\"Subex<\/figure>NEW DELHI: Subex<\/a> on Tuesday joined the O-RAN Alliance<\/a> to support the development and standardization of Open RAN<\/a> (open radio access networks).

To support innovation, Subex said it aims to leverage its expertise in ML-based network analytics to facilitate Open RAN in maximizing network performance through artificial intelligence (AI).

The O-RAN Alliance seeks to accelerate the adoption of open, virtualized, and interoperable mobile network ecosystems by creating standards and reference architectures in the domain.

<\/div><\/div>Furthermore, O-RAN is gaining interest in the telecom industry<\/a> due to its potential economic value and as operators around the world deploy 5G networks. According to an ABI Research report, the Open RAN Capex spending will overtake traditional RAN spending by 2028 while Dell\u2019Oro Group says that 10% of the RAN market will be dominated by Open RAN hardware and software by 2025.

The O-RAN Alliance was founded in February 2018 by AT&T, China Mobile, Deutsche Telekom, NTT DOCOMO, and Orange, and has since become a global community of mobile network operators, vendors, and research and academic institutions operating in the RAN industry.
