\nThe world’s No 1 telecom equipment maker that clocked an 85% increase in revenue from the India market in the quarter ended June 2015 over the same three month period last year, attributed its growth to rising mobile data traffic on the back of continued investments into mobile broadband by carriers. \"India doesn’t have the telecom, fixed line and Internet over all, so 3G and 4G will enable the access of Internet to consumers, which means it is far more important and of huge relevance for India,\" Vestberg said.

\n\"As for building a technology, these days an operator can handle 3G or 4G in software, and capacity between the technologies, so it’s more about when the consumers can afford to have 4G devices,\" he added. The India market clocked sales of SEK 3.049 billion (Rs 2,218 crore) for the second quarter, while that from network business stood at SEK 1.83 billion (Rs 1,353 crore) and global services sales stood at SEK 1.06 billion (Rs 783 crore). Support solutions vertical contributed SEK 158 million (Rs 116 crore) towards the overall Indian sales.

\n\"India has been, for many years, an extremely important for Ericsson in our growth strategy, from market, resource and investment point of view,\" Vestberg said.

\n\"For a market of India's size an 85% growth is very good, coming from comparison with a fairly weak first half year of 2014 on network infrastructure.\" Indian operations’ contribution to global revenue rose to 5% — despite a sequential fall of 14% — from 3% in the corresponding quarter 2014.
When compared over six months from January to June 2015, the contribution rises to 6%, inching close to No 2 China which contributed 8% in the same period. In the second quarter China contributed 9% to global revenue of SEK 60.7 billion (Rs 44,367.7 crore), which was up 11% over Q2<\/a> 2014.
