Shares of GTPL Hathway (up 4.86 per cent), Vindhya Telelinks (up 2.34 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 2.31 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (up 1.50 per cent) and Aksh Optifibre (up 1.14 per cent), were among the top performers.

OnMobile Global (up 1.08 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (up 0.84 per cent) and GTL Infrastructure (up 0.81 per cent) too were the top gainers in the index.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 47.55 points at 10,194.35 while BSE Sensex was up 134.65 points at 33,981.88 at that time.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of JP Associates, Vakrangee, Ambuja Cements, Dewan Housing, Reliance Communications, YES Bank, Adani Power, Infosys, Allahabad Bank, Suzlon Energy, Tata Motors, Infibeam Avenues, Reliance Power, Dena Bank, PNB and L&T Fin Holding were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
