Tejas Networks<\/a> (up 0.85 per cent), Vindhya Telelinks (up 0.77 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (up 0.52 per cent), Bharti Airtel<\/a> (up 0.37 per cent) and Himachal Futuristic Communications<\/a> (up 0.19 per cent) were also among gainers in the index.

\nOn the other hand, Aksh Optifibre (down 5.23 per cent) and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (down 3.24 per cent) were suffering losses.

Shares of Bharti Infratel (down 0.96 per cent), MTNL<\/a> (down 0.60 per cent), Tata Communications<\/a> (down 0.49 per cent), Idea Cellular<\/a> (down 0.40 per cent), GTPL Hathway (down 0.36 per cent) and ITI (down 0.27 per cent) were also in the red.

\nThe BSE Telecom<\/a> index was trading 0.06 per cent up at 1,213 around 12:20 pm.

Benchmark BSE Se nse<\/a>x was up 159 points at 35,066, while the NSE<\/a> Nifty50 index was up 46 points at 10,660.
