The three apps - Trai<\/a> MyCall App, auto test enabled MySpeed app<\/a> and Do-not-disturb 2.0 app - are aimed at improving customer experience through real-time feedback from over 1 billion mobile phone users in the country, to service providers so they can enhance quality of services.

\"We think crowdsourcing is the best way to get customer feedback, better and cost effective than surveys or other studies, and we've tried to leverage this technology tool in the past for bringing out the true picture of the impact of the services,\" Trai chairman RS Sharma<\/a> said Monday.

\nWe're trying to improve the collection methodology where Trai will pick up the data charges for providing the feedback to the regulator, Sharma added.
\n
\nThe MyCall Android app will help mobile users to rate the call quality in real time, from one star to five star, five being the highest. The app will ask whether users are outside, inside or while traveling, and the frequency of the rating can be controlled by users. The data is collected anonymously, and uses can also mark a call as call drop whenever it happens.
\n
The MySpeed app, which has more than 1.5 million downloads and helps users measure 3G and 4G speeds<\/a>, will come with automated testing of data speeds free of charge and anonymously.

\n\"Now we can make statistically valid sampling, to give a better more accurate report. The crowd sourced data so collected can be viewed in aggregated form on the interactive map based portal,\" the regulator said.
\n
\nThe new version of the Do-not-disturb app comes with a spam detection engine for SMS, and marks the message as spam but will wait for the consumer's action. The app will identify senders and warns them from sending further messages. The apps new version will also come with update on the action taken on a user's complaint.
\n
\nAnother portal launched for registration of service providers including cable operators, DTH operators, multi system operators and others. The portal will help in dissemination of information to the operators and give users a single source of information board of all operators.
