NEW DELHI: India’s true-wireless stereo (TWS) shipments reached highest-ever record of 8 million units in Q3 2021, up by 55% year-on-year, according to the latest research from Counterpoint’s IoT service.

High amounts of inventory in retail channels ahead of the festive season along with new entrants, discount offers, sales events, and feature-rich affordable offerings led to the growth of TWS shipments<\/a> during the quarter, it said.

boAt<\/a> dominated the market for the fifth quarter in a row with a 35.8% share in the overall market in Q3 2021.

Realme<\/a> rose to the second spot with an 8.1% share driven by the mid-range Buds AIr 2 and Buds Q2 Neo in the low-price segment.

Another homegrown brand Noise held a 7.7% share, taking the third spot in the market, driven by low-price offerings.

Apple<\/a> logged record shipments and took the fourth spot with a 7.6% share led by the success of its Airpods (Gen 2). Additional inventory on account of Apple<\/a>’s plan to bundle free Airpods with the iPhone 12 series in the fourth quarter helped the brand achieve 67% year-on-year growth, the report said.

Boult Audio, an Indian brand, took the fifth spot for the first time ever. It held a 5.3% share with 147% year-on-year growth.
