<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure> NEW DELHI: Industry association for telecom<\/a> infrastructure providers TAIPA<\/a> on Wednesday said that the telecom infrastructure policy<\/a> brought out by Uttarakhand<\/a> government is more or less aligned with Right of Way rules, however it imposes sharing fee of Rs 5000 per service provider which is not as per RoW<\/a> 2016 rules.

TAIPA said that it is writing back to the authorities in order to streamline the same.

“The policy indeed will be able to address issues such as call drops, network outage and connectivity gaps etc. It imposes sharing fee of Rs 5000 per service provider which is not as per RoW rules, 2016 for which we are requesting the authorities to align the same with the Central guidelines,” said
Tilak Raj<\/a> Dua, Director General, TAIPA.

As part of the policy, State Level Telecom Committee (SLTC) & District Level Telecom Committee (DLTC) have been formed to address public grievances and to implement guidelines.

The policy would look at developing online Right of Way portal within one year of time for the overview of RoW approvals.

Also, the policy mentions that no coercive actions against towers would be taken without consent from TERM cell, related to EMF issues.

Further it states that no location-based restriction would be imposed for installation of the mobile towers along with 60 days timeline for clearance of application.

The notified tower policy mentions Rs 1000 administrative charges for over-ground telecom infrastructure, Rs 5000 rupees as one-time permission charges and Rs 1000 rupees per kilometre for underground infrastructure.

The policy ensures strict legal action under relevant sections to be initiated against any wilful or negligent damage to the telecom infrastructure facility and causing interruption to the network connectivity.
