\"Vodafone Idea Limited, at its meeting held today i.e. 31 January, 2023, has again approved Preferential Issuance of upto 16000 Indian Rupee denominated optionally convertible, unsecured, unrated and unlisted debentures having a face value of Rs. 10,00,000 each, in one or more tranches, aggregating upto Rs.1600 crores, convertible into equity shares at a conversion price of Rs. 10\/- per equity share, to ATC, a non-promoter of the Company quote,\" the telco informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

It added that an extra ordinary general meeting will be convened on February 25 for the purpose of seeking approval of shareholders on the matter.

The Vodafone Idea stock closed at Rs 7.07, 4.12% up at the end of trading on Tuesday, after a rally on Monday in anticipation of the January 31 board meeting.

The filing to the exchanges came after trading hours.

On January 26, the cash-strapped telco had told exchanges that its board would meet on January 31 to reset the timeline for the issuance of OCDs to ATC.

Vi had failed to conclude the issuance twice due to delay at the government end to convert the telco's Rs 16,130-crore accrued interest on deferred adjusted gross revenue (AGR)-related dues into equity.
