Shares of Vodafone Idea<\/a> (Vi) rose up to 3.40 per cent in Friday’s trade as media reports suggested the government would acquire a stake in the telecom operator as and when the stock stabilises at Rs 10 or above.

As per reports, the Vi board has offered a stake to the government at a par value of Rs 10 per share.

\"There is a SEBI norm that the acquisition should take place at par value. DoT will clear the acquisition after VIL shares stabilise at Rs 10 or above,\" PTI said quoting sources.

At 9.49 am, the scrip was trading 0.83 per cent higher at Rs 9.77 over last day’s closing of Rs 9.69 a piece. The stock has risen nearly 84 per cent in the past one year and is up nearly 6 per cent in the last 3 months.

The Finance Ministry<\/a> had cleared the proposal to acquire a stake in Vi in July.
