These 1,000 students, as per the company are from 19 states namely, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal.
Launched last year, the scholarships enable teachers as well as students to access Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) covering a list of permissible expenses, as per an official statement.
The eligibility of students is based on merit and it is conducted entirely online under the supervision of an independent jury, including eminent educators, and representatives of civil society organizations, it added.
The scholarship initiative also aims to bridge the social and financial divide faced by teachers as well as students in terms of availability and accessibility to the necessary resources.
