<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure> NEW DELHI: The World Health Organization<\/a> (WHO<\/a>) said on Saturday it has partnered with instant (IM) messaging giant WhatsApp<\/a> and leading social media platform Facebook<\/a> to disseminate COVID-19<\/a> related facts to masses.

The IM giant WhatsApp with its user base of 2 billion people will allow WHO to send information directly to the people who require it the most, the WHO said.

WHO said that the messaging service will keep government leaders to health workers, family, friends, etc updated with the latest information on
coronavirus<\/a>, including details on symptoms, and precautionary measures to protect themselves and others. The service will also provide latest situation reports and real-time statistics to assist government decision-makers in protecting the health of their populations.

WHO said the service can be accessed through a link (http:\/\/bit.ly\/who-covid19-whatsapp) which will open a conversation on WhatsApp. To make the service easily accessible and user-friendly, one can simply send a “hi” text to activate the service which will then provide a menu of options that can help users in getting answers to their queries on coronavirus.
