\nIn the quarter to December, the L&T arm had closed $50 million deal in the aerospace electronics segment. Panda said that \"these large deals won are in multiple segments. We are working on one in oil and gas segment, one in CPG, chemical speciality, and the like\".

\nEngineering services firms are mirroring a trend that is seen among large IT services firms of winning larger deals as their traditional clients, disrupted by smaller and nimble rivals with newer business models, are investing in technology to keep pace with the shift.

\nHowever, unlike IT services offerings that build applications and maintain them for clients, engineering services firms look to build either products or solutions that help customers in their core business.

\n\"In engineering and manufacturing companies today, only 20% of them have got into these areas. They are thinking about it. There is proof of concepts. Is this going to explode? Yes,\" said Panda.

\nLTTS is now looking to invest more in its platforms and develop newer solutions on top of it under the leadership of its CTO Ashish Kushru, who was hired last year from Tata Elxsi.

\n\"There are about 20 platforms. For instance, we have energy audit platform, an IoT platform, smart campuses platform, one for camera sensors... Now, we are working on maturing these platforms.
