Now with the Samsung S10<\/a> range, Samsung is, for the first time ever, launching three Galaxy phones<\/a> at the same time. It seems like they’re going after different iPhone variants in the market. Samsung is about to launch the S10, S10e and the S10+: all three boast of amoled panels with edge-to-edge display and a hole-punch camera. Purely looking at specs, these Samsung phones offer more screen estate thanks to the new style of notch design (Samsung calls it Infinity O style). The S10e has a 5.8-inch display to take on the iPhone XS, the S10 has a 6.1-inch screen to fight the iPhone XR and the Galaxy S10+ competes with the iPhone XS Max with a 6.4-inch display. As is typical of Samsung flagships, the devices also have higher display resolution and they’re including the new in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanners (the S10e is the only one with a side-mounted capacitive scanner).

Here’s what we know so far about the specifications. They’ll have the current flagship processors (Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820, depending on market – India gets the Exynos), 6, 8 or 12GB RAM, a base storage of 128GB and large batteries with fast charge support. As far as the camera goes, the S10e has a dual rear camera (12MP + 16MP) while the S10 and S10+ have triple rear camera (12MP + 16MP + 12MP) with optimizations for low light photography, portraits and a wide-angle mode. For the front camera, S10e and S10 have a 10MP selfie camera while the S10+ has a 10MP + 8MP dual camera setup. All three phone selfie cameras are enhanced for low light usage and offer 4K video recording: a feature not available on any other phone. This should find favour with the vlogging community.
Comparing these new Galaxy phones to Apple’s existing range, the iPhones seem expensive and outdated. It’ll be another six months till Apple launches the iPhone 11 which means Samsung has a pretty big head start. All eyes toward Apple now – they have to pull off something ground breaking for the next iPhone to ward off Samsung’s current onslaught.
